Kuta has come a long way since it was discovered by Aussie surfers and western backpackers, 30 years ago. Once a sleepy village, Kuta’s ribbon development has spread – incorporating the former villages of Tuban and Legian, into one mini-town. Despite the din and the ever present street hawkers Kuta has a great nightlife, excellent shopping and a huge choice of restaurants/ entertainment. If Kuta’s hectic vibe isn’t want you’re looking for, stay at Tuban or Legian – on the fringes of the main action.
