Bangkok : Bangkok hotels' in a city that's as mysteriously ancient as it is vividly modern are part of the total experience in Thailand's thriving and lively capital city. The new underground rail system and Skytrain now link most of the main tourist and business areas, allowing easy access to virtually anywhere in the city - just steps from your hotel. The old city area (Rattanakosin) and the riverside are becoming popular areas near Bangkok's temples. But if you're a shopaholic, head for Sukhumvit, Ploenchit and Chidlom.

Chidlom - Ploenchit : If shopping or business is high on your agenda and you require a location slap-bang in the middle of all the action, this is it. The area around Ploenchit Road and Chidlom is to Bangkok what Orchard Road is to Singapore, and Knightsbridge to London. Some of Bangkok's finest malls can be found here – the likes of Gaysorn, Peninsula Plaza, Amarin Plaza and the newly-revamped CentralWorld, the latter which is now the largest mall in Southeast Asia. The area in front of CentralWorld is also Bangkok’s official New Year countdown venue. Along with these great malls come some wonderful hotels, restaurants, two skytrain (BTS) connections (Chidlom and Ploenchit) – all conveniently connected with modern, elevated walkways. Central Chidlom department store is another highlight, and many embassies are also located closeby in Wireless and Rajadamri Roads. A variety of good restaurants and fine serviced apartments can be found down Langsuan Road, while the Siam area with more high-end shopping at Siam Paragon, Siam Centre and Siam Discovery is very close (and MBK for bargain shopping!). So too the attractions of Silom, and the Sathorn business district. Did we mention that Bangkok’s biggest park, Lumpini Park, and Suan Lum Night Bazaar is just ten minutes away by taxi?
