Address : 7 Tran Phu Street, Dalat
Vietnam : Dalat, built on a plateau 1,500 metres above sea level, became such a favourite retreat of the colonial French that it became known as ‘Le Petit Paris’. Dalat still bears a passing resemblance to a French town, an impression that is diminishing as Vietnamese-style buildings proliferate. \n\nA cooling escape from the heat of the coastal plains and the Mekong Delta, Dalat has a refreshingly mild climate with attractive waterfalls, lakes, springs, pine-covered hills and French-built villas. It’s also a good base for visiting local tribal villages outside the town. Some villages, like Lat Village and the Chicken Village (with a huge statue of a chicken), are close to Dalat itself. Highlights of Dalat include Emperor Bao Dai's Summer Palace, the Linh Phuoc Pagoda and Dalat railway station.
