Hotel Information

The resort lies nestled in the heart of Siem Reap, the seat of Khmer culture, famed for the UNESCO World Heritage Angkor Temples. Opened in February 2009, it draws its name from Sothea, the beloved wife of a prominent local businessman who had the resort built as a tribute to her on her 50th birthday.
The resort was conceived as a hideaway for lovers and those seeking a quiet retreat, a place of natural beauty filled with intimate gardens, fountains and soothing waterways. It has become renowned for its unique architecture that blends contemporary design with details that reflect Khmer traditions, its charming interiors and beautifully landscaped environment.
Alila Sothea?s four categories of suites offer the epitome of elegance and comfort fit for royalty. The 48 sqm Deluxe Suites and 65 sqm Royal Deluxe Suites are based on a studio concept with lounge, bedroom, balcony and semi-open bath area. Measuring 90 sqm, the Queen Suites are made for romance, with a lace-shrouded king-size bed, large bay windows overlooking the swimming pool, and a ?day room? ideal for intimate dinners for two. Last but not least, the King Suites range in size from 110 to 140 meters. Inspired by traditional Khmer villas, each suite has a private garden or a large balcony, a private library, as well as an in-suite spa area equipped with whirlpool Jacuzzi for two and massage beds.
Facilities at the resort include a spa, 22-meter-long saltwater swimming pool, and state-of-the-art gym. Its two main restaurants, Chatra and The Terrace, offer casual and fine dining options, where guests can savour authentic Khmer and French flavours as well as classic international dishes. Wines, creative cocktails and space for cozy tete-a-tetes are on the menu at The Flame lounge bar.
With its emphasis on intimate spaces, exquisite design, and experiences among the World Heritage temples that offer a feast for the senses, Alila Sothea makes a perfect addition to the Alila portfolio.
